On December 10th, after top officials reached an agreement, the United States, Mexico and Canada signed the Protocol of Amendment to the USMCA.
We believe that the official version of the Protocol of Amendment will be released shortly.
The modifications are about labor, environmental and conservation provisions, biomedicines and adjustments to rules of origin for steel and aluminum used in the automobile industry, among others.
Finally, is important to bear in mind that according with the initial Protocol, each Party shall notify the other Parties, in writing, once it has completed the internal procedures required for the entry into force of the USMCA. The Agreement shall enter into force on the first day of the third month following the last notification.
